Hi, i have looked all through this site to see if there is anything that could help me but there isnt. i have a laptop and recently i re-installed my printer driver. it worked after that but not for long. now my computer is telling me that it can't recognise the usb device. i only have one usb socket, the other doesn't work :-S. anyway, my external dvd rewriter, printer, and cable modem are not recognized through the USB, this has happened before but it stopped for some unkown reason. any ideas anyone? thanks.

Right click My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager

Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers

Whats listed in there?
You might have to reinstall the usb controller drivers.

Cheers,

Rich

Have you looked in your bios for any usb settings?
You won't find anything there, that will help ... good diagnostics though. :thumb:

The Lappie is seeing the hub, but it ain't working ... I would say your USB has failed ... dead.

Sorry. :(

i own a laptop so what are your suggestions, send it back to the supplier and get them to fix it? thanks

If under warrantee, yes ... but they can't 'fix' it, they will have to change the MB. :thumb:
