Problem with tiff files

Hello,
Sorry for sending my previous message. But I made some
mistakes because of my bad english.
I have some trouble with tiff files.
Windows xp do not display annotation toolbar for tiff files and
modification of summary data is rejected.
When I try to add text to summary in tiff images i.e in
title, subject, keywords and comments, a message tells me
that the file is read only or another application is
using it. The file is not in read only and any application use it.
However, if I do the following :
1- Transfer a tiff file to a second pc using Windows 98se
2- Read the tiff file with kodakimaging.exe
3- copy the tiff file using option of kodakimagin: change the
color to sRGB.
4- Return the mofified tiff file to my pc using xp
Then, I can display annotation toolbar and modify summary data
but only for this tiff file.
Remarks . If dooing item 3, I do a copy without changing color to
sRGB, I get the same trouble as discribed above.
I display tiff files with Windows explorer using : Windows picture and
fax wiever as is stated in documentation.
Google did not help me. Please help me.

Many thanks for your help. I have no problem to open tiff files.
Only with tiff annotation toolbar. Instead I get the standard
toolbar.
Now I suspect Nikon plug-in because I am using Nikon Scan software
to scan and create tiff files and others Nikon software for digital
image. I will delete all Nikon softwares and try to modify summary of
of of tiff file properties and see if annotation toolbar is displayed
Afterwards I will send a question to Nikon support team.

Nikon Told me. Sorry, We don't have problem with your tiff files.
May be Microsoft can help you.
I read all your reference. But, Solutions work for others troubles
