problem with the splash screen in vb.net 2008

Hi,

I have a splash screen in my application, which I have defined in projects
applications properties

When I am debug mode, the splash screen appears, and as my main form loads,
the splash screen disappears, which is perfect.

However when I compile and install the application on a users PC, the splash
screen appears, but never disappers. I have to manually click the
applications main form which only then does the splash screen disappear.

How can I get around this ?
