Hello everyone,

I have a problem with the printer HP 880c.
When I print at this printer ther is no problem. But when it's printing, I remove the paper. Then I try to delete or cansel the printjob. But it does not work. When I put the paper back and push one of the buttons at the printer, then it's working. But it's using paper.
After this, I start a new printjob. This gives strange and big characters.

Who can tell me how to fix the problem?

This is the way the driver works. There is a long time between
deleting a print job and it going away. Cycling power to the
printer and rebooting the computer is the quickest way out of
the problem. I solved the problem by buying a Canon i850.

Hello Fritz-

I've got an 880c, and when I decide all of a sudden to cancel a print
job, I start pushing the two buttons on the top right of the printer
(The only one's, of course) very fast - back and forth - From one to
the other, until I see the message come up on the monitor that the job
failed. I don't have to take paper out to keep it form using more
paper - However, you can also - Depending on how quickly you do botton
procedure - You can also completely save the original paper too. Now,
after that, you want to drag the cursor with the mouse to a neutral
place on your crt/lcd - Then do a right click. When the pop-up comes,
choose to "cancel" the job. After this, push the top button on the
printer for the green light to come on. Then try to print again. If it
doesn't print - Push the top button again to off - And then push it
again to cut it back on. If you keep doing this it will always print
evenually - At least after the third time you do this. This always
works for me, and I've been doing it now for over 4 years. Hope this
helps you. Les

Fritz-

You don't have to reboot your pc to solve this - Just push those
buttons back & forth like your doing finger walking. Also, what I
forgot to ask you is this: Check & make sure what that you have the
most updated driver for your printer. Of course, if you have XP, it's
already in the application - But if you have Second Ed. you'll have to
download it from the HP site. If you don't have XP yet, it's well
worth it. Second Ed. is so much more unstable.

I just realized that I left out some key steps in my previous message
to you that I resighted from memory. But when I actually cancelled one
of my jobs myself......So here it is again:

From the beginning - To cancel print job - Push both buttons on
printer back & forth quickly until you see the balloon message pop up
at bottom right of lcd/crt that says, "This Document Failed to Print"
Either left click on the balloon OR right click on the printer icon
with the red question mark just below there. Then a window will pop-up
titled "HP Deskjet 880c - Use Printer Offline". Now right click on the
print description line in the white area of the window. When a small
gray window pops up - Left click on, "Cancel All Documents" - and when
still another pop-up appears saying, "Are You Sure.....?" - Click
"Yes". then close remaining pop-up window. Push top button of printer
on - and then off. If job doesn't print - Keep pushing the botton on
and off until it does print - And it will after several times. This
always works for me. Seems detailed, but when actually done - It goes
very quickly. Again - My apologies. Les
