When I go to Outlook 2003 | Tools | Address Book... | the address book that is coming up is wab. The same Address book that Microsoft Outlook Express 5.5 is using. I would like to have the addresses that are in my Contacts folder displayed as being avaiable. I right-clicked on my Contacts folder and chose Properties. Under Outlook Address Book there is a check in Show this folder as an e-mail Address book. But like I said, when I go to Outlook 2003 | Tools | Address Book... | the address book that is coming up is wab.

I would like to have the Address Book that comes up when I make a new E-mail and choose To to be my Conatcts in Microsoft Outlook 2003. How can I do that? Thanks.

This is not possible in Outlook 2003. Check your version and specify your
installation sequence.

Now you're telling me something entirely different. You said Outlook 2003
was displaying the WAB. That is indeed impossible. Moreover, you are not
using Outlook 2003. Please post accurate information, especially if you are
using Outlook in IMO mode.

If you were using Outlook 2003, all you would need to do is set your Outlook
Address Book to show your Contacts Folders correctly and then and sort them
the way you want.

Go to Tools | E-mail accounts, select "View or change existing directories
or address books", and click OK. Select the OAB and then click Change to
make sure ONLY the Contacts folder(s) you want to display are listed and
remove any outdated or extraneous folders listed. If any of them aren't
listed, you'll need to enable those Contacts folders as Outlook Address
Books by right clicking the folder, selecting Properties, clicking the
Outlook Address Book tab, and checking the "Show this folder as an E-mail
address book" box. Make sure you restart Outlook after making these
changes. While you're there you can also show set your sort order to "FN,
LN" or "File As..."

Well it may not be possible but it is true nonetheless.

I have as a first Contact in Outlook 2003 called Administrator.
Administrator does not occur in the Address book. The Address book says,
"Outlook Address Book" and under that it says, "Contacts." But the Contacts
that the Address Book are showing is NOT what is in the Contacts folder.

Here I can prove it.

Now to show you just the top part of the Address book and the first contact
as it comes up by clicking on the Address book icon on the Standard Toolbar
in Outlook 2003 (Everything in Alphabetical order by name):

Not to show you the first few entries in the Conatacts folder in Outlook
2003. Everything is in Alphabetical order.

See the Address book as seen in the second pic is missing Abuse@Geocities.,
Com AND Administartor (sic). See I am not making it up. BABYLON5 comes
first in the Address book as obtained by clicking the Address book Icon on
the Standard toolbar in Outlook 2003 and the Contacts folder itself is
showing two entries not shown in the Address Book.

Now I realize it is not "possible" as you say, but it is nonetheless.
Abuse@Geocities., Com AND Administartor do NOT occur in the Address book at
all at all. In fact there is no way I can put their addresses in a new mail
using the To because they just do not occur in the Address Book. Occur in
the Contacts folder but NOT in the Address book.

What have I done wrong?

Oh and by the way. wab is nothing like any of the pictures I have shown
you.

Yes I made a mistake about Outlook 2003 Address book using wab. I still have this problem.

Aha I figured it out. The trouble is in how the Contacts are listed. See I put these contacts in over the years using other versions of Outlook. All the way back to Outlook 97. This issue never came up until now.

I went to Administartor (sic) since that was one of the problem entries. I double-clicked it. On the far right side there are an entries E-mail... and Display as:. It turns out Administartor (sic) had nothing in these areas. So I put in a fake e-mail address for E-mail and Display as: came up. This was not the case for Abuse@Geocities,.Com. It had an e-mail address just I believe Dispaly as was blank.

I have another at the end that is not showing in the address book. Let me see if the same issue is occurring there...yup that is what it is. No e-mail address for the Contact it doesn't show in the Address book. Makes sense I guess but hey Stop Making Sense...

Thanks for your efforts on this Russ.

not show up in the Outlook Address Book.
