Problem with Task Manager - other programs freezing as well

Okay, I've been having a problem with certain programs freezing on me
and not loading a couple of minutes into rebooting from windows. I try
to press control+alt+delete but the task manager does not load.

I have read other threads that have similar problems on google groups,
but it does not seem anyone has had a problem similar to mine that I
have read. Every time I'm online I keep getting a message that the
welchia worm virus has been detected on my computer and it has been
deleted, and shortly thereafter my problem comes up again... so maybe
this is the problem?
