Problem with SyncToy

Some time ago, I've installed SyncToy on my WinXP Home machine and used it
for synchronizing my network (2 machines). It worked fine for a while
running every morning at bootup. Then, for unknown to me reason, the
automatic synchronization stopped. The SyncToy screen would appear briefly
on my desktop at boot, but disappear without any synchronization. A manual
synchronization still works.
I tried to set up various scheduling schemes, but none works automatically.
May someone please suggest what went wrong and why? How to fix it and have
SyncToy to work automatically again?

you might try
reinstalling it

Thanks, db. I thought about this but what will happen to my already
synchronized folders? Will a new installation recognize them or I will need
new folder pairs?

not sure what will happen
to your folder pairs.

however, although
reinstalling seems to be
a reasonable solution, a reinstall
may also encounter a similar
problem.

one thing that comes to
mind is that if there is no
network connectivity prior to
the sync toy, then it may simply pop up
and disappear with out doing anything.

i run mine manually, so any
aspects with automating it
is not within my experience.

maybe scheduling via the
schedule tasks control panel might
be a way to go.

Yeah, db, I agree with you that the problem could be rooted in the lack of
network connectivity at bootup. SyncToy starts before network is
connected... My SyncToy is scheduled via Scheduling Task app and it worked
for a while... Well, anyway, will run it manually...
Thanks for your input.
