Since downloading spyware I have a problem with long
periods for pages to load or they hang-up
Same thing happens here to my IE 6.0 under XP HE SP2, after the MSAS beta
install this week; first time I have ever used it. It scanned and found only
one thing that was deemed permanently ignorable by me: RealVNC remote
control networking.
Web pages are delayed by about 5 or 6 seconds. In fact, no URL shows in the
status bar until several seconds after using one of my Favorites bookmarks.
Nice that plun gave some suggestions to try but there was nothing (obvious
anyway) wrong prior to the install of MSAS Beta 1. Cable connection is
almost 3 Mbps and web pages would load nearly immediately before.
There are also frequent Work Offline/Online dialog boxes if there are long
pauses between internet use.
I tried exiting MSAS but the behavior remained. Have yet to restart the
computer with the beta uninstalled or just prevented from starting, but that
is the next thing I'll try in an attempt to fix things here.
Hope it can work okay. I tried Ad-aware and Spybot S&D last year but after a
HDD upgrade I haven't returned to actively watching for such things until I
noticed MS had this antispyware as a free beta. I like simplicity and it
seems good in that department. If the delay turns out to be due to MSAS,
beta 1, I sure hope it can be fixed later on in another beta.
