Problem with slide show

I am using PP 2002 on a Gateway Solo 2500 laptop. It is connected to a
Sanyo projector. Sometimes the bottom half of the projected image goes
black. It seems to happen most often when the presentation is idle. This
evening I had the presentation running and the projector on "no show". When
I turned off the "no show" the bottom half of the projector screen was
black. When I tried to advance the slide using a wireless remote nothing
happened. The same slide remained on the projector screen. I clicked the
remote several times. When I got to the laptop the laptop screen was black.
When I advanced the slide using the arrow key on the laptop it was in the
middle of the presentation, and the correct slide showed on the projector
screen. So it seems when I was hitting the remote it was advancing the
slide on the laptop, but the first slide that was half black continued to
show on the projector. I hope this makes sense. Does anyone know why this
would happen. The wireless remote works fine.

Thanks,
Linda

I remember reading about difficulties with some wireless remotes.

To start the debug process, I would try removing the remote, restarting the
computer, and see if the projector stops being difficult.

In additions to Bill's excellent advice.....

I'd turn OFF any auto power saving features on both the laptop and the projector.

I have had the problem with the bottom half of the screen going black for
sometime now. We've only used the remote the last two weeks. The first
week it worked fine but we didn't have any problems with the screen going
black. I tested the remote before the presentation began and everything was
working fine.

I am using an RF remote with the laptop, and not the remote that controls
the projector for advancing the slides.

Thank you,
Linda
