Problem with Shutdown

When I try to shut down my computer, I repeatedly have a
problem when I receive an error message stating that
there is a problem with iexplorer, and I have to push the
button that says "end task" about 5 or 6 times, waiting
for the bar to fill each time, before my computer will
actually allow me to shut down. I tried re-downloading
internet explorer...this seemed to be a temporary fix,
but the problem popped up again after about a week's
time. Can anyone help with this? I'd really appreciate
it. Thanks.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

If nothing there helps, please post back to this thread.
