Hi. My Windows XP Home edition had a problem that
affected the visuals and had to reboot (after it sent in
a report to Microsoft). After it rebooted, all my
shortcut icons no longer had the little corner arrow. It
instead had a black square with a white vertical line on
one side. Also, my Microsoft word icon was messed up on
my word documents (it looks like it has been scrambled
somewhat). I believe the problem is in my Shell32.dll
since that is (I think) where these icons are in. If I
try to change the icon in my word document shortcut that
seems to be where it is taking me. Some of the icons
that I can select from in this dll are blank and others
look corrupt (the last few in the selection list). Is
there a way to download and replace this dll? Or is
there some utility to run that can fix this type of
problem?
