Problem with Search Button

Does anyone know why using the ie search button would
cause uncontrollable pop-ups. It opens so many at once
that the system jams. I have repaired ie, also deleted
and reinstalled still no luck. When I look at task bar it
shows multiple occurances of explorer open and also some
java scripting stuff in html format. I am stumped. Any
suggestions would be most appreciated.
 
Thanks for the input Cory. The fixes you suggested did
not do the trick for my sick computer however this
information was so helpful. I work in a public library
and can use the information you gave me to make our public
access stations run more smoothly. This is the first time
I have used this site and I was delighted that someone
actually responded to my question. Thanks again. L

I have the same problem, I do not know what to do with
it. I cannot use search screen at all because of the
problem. Could you please forward any answer you get to
