I have a problem with a SCSI floppy drive on windows xp.
I get a data error (cyclic redundancy check) when trying
to move a file from a floppy onto the hard drive.
I also got a - Failed to initialise properly - 0xc0000006
error. Can someone please help.

Cheers, Alex

You either have a bad floppy disk (replace the disk)
or a bad drive (replace the drive).

Hi

First, boot into BIOS and change the boot sequence that the floppy drive is the first boot device, save and exit BIOS then shutdown the PC
Insert a Win 98/ME boot disk into the floppy and start the PC
If it can boot from the startup disk, your floppy drive should be OK
Shutdown the PC and remove the startup disk from the floppy drive
Restart the PC in safe mode by pressing F8 key and login as administrator
Go to device manager, double click Floppy Disk Controllers
Right click Standard Floppy Disk Controller and select Uninstall, click OK then reboot
Windows should find the floppy drive and install the drivers
Insert the floppy disk to the floppy drive and try again
If it still cannot read the floppy, either the FAT file format on the floppy is corrupted or the disk is faulty
Try format the disk using quick format, then format the disk again using normal format
Change the floppy if it still cannot work
You can test the floppy drive using a floppy disk that can be read by other PC
If still no go, change the floppy drive. It's cheap today, around $10.- only

BTY, make sure the floppy read/write is enabled in BIOS and the IDE cable is not losen

Hope it helps

Pete
