Problem with Scan Scheduler

Since updating to the latest version, whenever I try to
set a scheduled scan for a PM time, it always sets itself
to the corresponding AM time. For example, if I set the
schedule for 18.00, it sets itself to 6.00 am - if I set
it to 21.00 it sets it to 9 am. Has anyone else come
across this problem and is there a fix for it?

Thanks

You are not talking American!
Just go to Control Panel\Regional and Language\ and
change your area to USA. Then alter your times in MS
AntiSpyware, return to the Regional and Language, and
change it back for your area.

I have the same problem. As I turn my computer off at
night, I need a time between 9.00 and 20.00. The change box
will only accept A.M. times so I have gone to 11.00.
Interesting enough, when I was trying different times in
the A.M. range, I managed to get the message above the
boxes to show 112.00 a.m. so there are clearly several bugs
in this area.

Thanks

But how will MS market something worldwide which requires
one to alter the clock setting just to change the scan
time. IMHO, the AntiSpyware should be looking at Regional
and Languages, not the operator.

The answer to your question is, this is a bug with the
current beta (1.0.615) which will have been addressed by
the time Beta2 is released later this year.

Thanks for that - although I'm in the UK, that little
work around solved the problem. Let's hope that
Microsoft fix this 'behaviour' in a later release.
Thanks for the tip though - it'll do fine for now!!

Yes--that's a bug, too. It is an appearance bug only, though--the scan will
take place at 10:00 am, which is the time which displays as 112:00.

These bugs won't be fixed in beta1, and they won't be there in beta2. Beta2
will appear sometime this year.

George,
MSFT hasn't published localized versions yet. That will happen, tho I can't
give a time frame.

Yes, I've also come across this problem. Indeed when I
set my version to scan at 22:00, it now says it's set to
scan at 112:00am?! Sounds like the other posts
suggesting this software is crap are on the money as it
were. If they can't even get something as basic as this
right (albeit on the test version) then I think something
is very wrong. Finally, if this is the thanks you get
for purchasing genuine microsoft software, it's no wonder
there's so much software piracy about!

Bob - the beta1 code is largely as purchased from a third party. Microsoft
is not fixing many small cosmetic bugs in this code, but putting the effort
into beta2 code which will be done according to standards from the start.
What you are seeing is a product of two actual bugs:

1) your machine is set to a 24 hour clock format, and in this case,
Microsoft Antispyware doesn't allow setting afternoon scan times--they
revert to the equivalent morning time.

2) for a 10 a.m. scan, Microsoft Antispyware displays 112:00--and has since
its first release. This is a cosmetic issue--the scan happens at 10:00 am.

The fix for bug 1 is to change your clock format (temporarily) to a 12 hour
format, set the desired afternoon scan time, and then change the clock
format back to a 24 hour format. The scan will happen in the afternoon as
scheduled.

Yes--these bugs would be embarassing 9 months into a normal product beta.
This beta is different--I don't believe you will see these issues when beta2
is released.
