Problem with "Save-As HTML-Only"

There are two web sites from which when I try to save web pages to my
hard disk as HTML-only I don't get the desired result. (File -> Save
As -> Web Page. HTML Only) Instead, I get a 130 byte object which
displays as an empty white page. I'm running IE 6.0 SP1 on Windows ME.

Case 1:

http://www.informationweek.com/shared/printableArticle.jhtml?articleID=53700730

This is the printer-friendly version of Fred Langa's biweekly column
in Information Week. I've been saving this column regularly for years.
Starting with the column of September 20, 2004, the HTML-only save
produced only the 130 byte object.

Case 2:

http://aumha.org/a/health.htm

This is an article from James Eshelman MS-MVP "Windows Support
Center". (Other articles from this site produce the same result when
saved as HTML-only). In 2003 I was able to save HTML-only versions of
articles from this site by right-clicking on links to the articles on
the left hand side of the articles' page (this sentence makes sense if
you view the site. The articles are displayed with frames, and there
are links on the left hand side.). This no longer yields the desired
result. Instead, I get the 130 byte object.

I prefer to save the HTML-only versions of these articles in order to
minimize use of disk space. I save to "My Documents" which I back-up
to CDRW. Things are simpler if "My Documents" fits on a single CDRW
disc.

Why are these HTML-only saves not working? (They worked in the past.)
