Hi guys,
bought a Sapphire X800 Pro ViVo TOXIC the other day, but I guess i
have to return it ....
I still think it's the best X800 Pro you can get, just had problems
with my particular one. Sapphire hands out a little proggie called APE
(Automated Performance Enhancer) with this card, wich clocks the
Videocard-RAM to 520 MHz - 560 MHz (depending on the actual temp of
the VPU) wich the Samsung RAMs (1.8 ns) should be able to handle
nicely.
My problem:
With APE enabled I got tons of artefacts in Far Cry or certain parts
in 3DMark03 (Battle of Proxycron for ex.), so my guess is that one of
the RAM-chips is not up for the higher clock speeds after all.....
Since Sapphire promises APE would work (by using the APE-tool you
DON'T lose warranty!!!) i will return the card.
I could have gotten a "normal" X800 Pro if i wanted to run the
"normal" clock speeds.
Is there anyone having (had) the same problem?
Bye for now,
Morten
