Hello,
I have deployed RRAS both as a "Router" and "Remote access" for VPN on
public\private gateway with 2 NICs.
It works OK for internal users who go out for Internet as well as for
external VPN clients.
There is only one little problem: It seems that RRAS internal adapter
(which gets IP from DHCP as well as RRAS clients) registers itself god knows
where (should be DNS server?) , with its IP address bound to gateway NETBIOS
machine name (I can test it by using "ping").
It makes a temporary problem to Internet proxy clients who use ISA "proxy"
ON THE SAME BOX. For instance, Client has "NETBIOS name" for proxy and it
doesn`t resolve it to original IP address of LAN NIC, but to RRAS internal
adapter`s IP address, and it cannot find "proxy" service on that address.
Moreover, strange thing is that this is, as I said "temporary", sometimes it
resolves to original address sometimes not.
It seems that problem starts soon after external VPN client connects.
First, I thought it was up to DNS Server but I deleted all A records from
DNS, pointing to RRAS internal adapter, but no change. Also no WINS records.
I disabled IGMP on RRAS.
On the same network, we have RRAS enabled for "dial-in" only (not as a
"Router"). But here emerges no problem.
Does anyone have an idea what could be going on?
Regards,
Vladimir
