When I do a report in Access 2003 I get the message "The wizard was unable
to create your report".

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
Eric

Go to your control panel and specify a default printer. If you think you
already have one then un-specify and re-specify it.

I did that and it didn't work. I'm not trying to print a Report, I am
trying to create one.

It doesn't make any difference if you are trying to design one, create one,
print preview one, or print one. You must have a default printer specified
in Windows in order to do all of these. If you are 100% sure you have one
specified and have specified and re-specified and it still doesn't work,
then you may need to update your drivers.

It must be the driver for the printer. I specify my PDF995 printer (program
we use) and it works. I did not know that about doing reports. I will try
a new driver for my printer and see if it works Thanks a lot for your help.

I have the same problem as well

The company just upgrade the office to 2003 and my old access files in 2000 can be opened fine, but everything under "reports" cannot be viewed or opened

I even tried to create a new access file using the access template they have in the office 2003, when the wizard tries to generate the file, it runs into error message saying cannot create forms or reports...

I do have a window default printer set up.

Try setup a new printer (even one you might not have access to) and make it
the default. See if this allows you to view a report.

Thanks for your input, I will try tomorrow when I go to work.

By the way, in the report, when I click on the "create report in design view", nothing happened. Unlike in the form, when I click on the "creat form in design view", there will be a blank sheet open. Does it also becomes the printer setting issue? Or in general, everything works, except the "reports". I will try to set up a new printer and see if it solves the problem. But that still didn't tell me why it doesn't work as the way it supposed to.
