Problem with Regional Settings

I recently had a problem with my machine and on startup
the system initiated a scandisk. After completion I was
able to log in and work without problems. There is only
one issue, my machine reverted back to a mm/DD/yyyy for
the date settings and it does not allow me to change it
to the dd/MM/yyyy that I had before. This apparently
happens for any change I try to make to the Regional
options. I always get a "One or more of the characters
you typed in this field are invalid. Try typing different
characters". This happens even if a selection from the
picklist is made.
Any ideas?. The scandisk made some corrections to the
disk, I assume something was damaged and replaced that
brought on this problem.

Hi

On the Regional Options tab, have you got the drop down menu set to English
(United Kingdom)?
