Hello,

One executable file that the Radeon drivers has installed on my WinME,
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ati2s9ag.exe,
crashes the computer at the Windows starting.
So the program which must test the hardware capabilities cannot run, and my
video functions are limited : I cannot have DirectX hardware acceleration,
for example.

Could somebody help me ?

My config :
Windows ME
GigaByte Radeon 7000 64 DDR
"Radeon 7000 series" driver v4

Thank you !
O.L.

Try starting in safe mode by holding F8 at OS boot. Then delete file. Then
be sure to install DirectX 9b from Microsoft. You may be able to install
latest drivers.

Are you sure that there is a significative difference between DX 9.x and DX
9b ?
I ask that because of my "slow" internet connection ;-)

Thx

For slow connections, it's not needed. WinXp is happy with DX8.1,
preinstalled. Any new game that need dx9 or9b, almost always carry the
runtimes on cd. So no need yet.

The new Catalyst drivers require DirectX 9b.

Sure ? :-O

Because that would explain all my problems !
It didn't work with the most recent Catalyst drivers and Dx9, but I think
it was not the 9b version ...

I've downloaded DirectX 9.0b, and there is nothing different :'C
I'm going to see on the Windows Update website if there is something
interesting ...

Thx
