I'm troubleshooting a machine which apparently someone attempted to install
XP over an existing W2K machine, realized they did not want XP, and somehow
quit out of the XP install (proret.MSI).
This has left the W2K with very crazy behavior. At various times it just
starts up the XP install procedure and demands you to put the XP disk into
the drive. For instance, if you open Windows Explorer, then click on
Search, up pops the XP installation screen demanding a CD be put into the
drive.
Question, how can I remove this partial XP setup from the W2K machine. Is
it in the registry where I need to remove items? Any ideas would be
appreciated!
Thanks, larry.k
