Having played around with macros as well as with both Excel 97-2003 and Excel 2007 spreadsheet files, I now continually get the following message:
"Excel cannot open the file 'PERSONAL.XLSB' because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file is not corrupted..."
I get this message when I open both .XLS and .XLSX files. These do open after the message, but I would like to rectify the error.
I do have a copy of PERSONAL.XLSB from another computer, but I don't want to further complicate the matter by simply overwriting the existing file without being fully aware of what are the consequences.
Can anyone help? Many thanks, John.
