Problem with Outlook 2003 / Exchange 5.5 SP4 / read receipts

Just started using Outlook 2003 with Exchange 5.5 SP4. When I use cached
exchange mode, read receipts are always sent to the message originator
regardless of whether they requested one. This doesn't occur while not
using cached mode. I'd like to use cached mode in order to use the built-in
spam filter.

I have Outlook configured to never send a read receipt. I set it to prompt
me whether or not to send a read receipt when requested, but that didn't
help. I also tried recreating my OST and recreating my Outlook profile.

Has this happened to anyone else?

No one posted any replies to this message, so I thought I'd try again.

We haven't used cached exchange mode, but it may be one of the things
that doesn't work without Exchange 2003?

Thank you. While I haven't experienced the problem specifically described
in the kb article, it sure seems like it could be related.
Can I ask you if you've had any trouble putting public folder
shortcuts in your favorites folder?

I just tested this and was able to successfully add folders to my Favorites
folder (public folders | favorites and IE | favorites).

I am seeing the exact same issue. I have loaded the
latest hotfix for the store to E5.5SP4 with no luck. I am
running 02k3 (11.5608.5703).

The problem I am having is that I can not run without
cached mode or any sent email gets stuck in the outbox.
If you then switch back to cached mode those items
disappear. If you disable cached mode then you see the
items stuck in outbox again.

I don't understand why we have cached mode. For user's
that are locally connect (LAN) this is a big waste of
space on the local drive that I would prefer not to have
anything on anyway.

If you are doing this for the SPAM filtering go get
spambayes @ www.spambayes.org (free!!!). I have only had
two false positives in the 6 months I have been using it.
