I installed office 2000 including Outlook 2000 and updated to SP3.
I then installed office XP (SP" slipstreamed into installation CD), electing
to keep all previous versions EXCEPT Outlook.
the side-by-side installation was successful, both versions of Excel, Word,
PowerPoint and Access existing.
However, Outlook (Outlook 2002 after the installation of XP) would not load.
the following error messages occurred:

On clicking the outlook icon this came up:
Unable to open your default e-mail folders. The .DLL file for the
information service could not be found. MAPI was unable to load the
information service PSTPRX.DLL. be sure the service is correctly installed
and configured.

On clicking "OK" this came up:

Would you like to open your default File System folder instead?
Yes/No.

On clicking "Yes" Outlook opened with My Computer. On clicking "No" outlook
closed.

Subsequent attempts to open Outlook meet with:

Cannot start Microsoft outlook. Unable to display the selected folder or
item. Could not complete the operation. one or more parameter values are not
valid.

"OK"

Can anyone suggest a solution? I would really like to have Office 2000 and
Office XP existing together with Outlook 2002 as the email client. At the
moment, I can only use outlook 2000 in this configuration.

thanks
