Hi Folks,

I'have the following error message that pops up
regularly : "Backward synchronisation error. You should
find further information in the synchronization log
located in the deleted items folder (outlook). Client
operation failed".

The laptop runs under W2K PRO / SP4

There is nothing in the french KB, and nothing in the US
one either.

Thanks in advance for your help.

.
search for *.ost, delete the .ost file in your documents
and settings, when you open outlook it will create a new
one, you could have a corrupt office data file
if you search and find none, open outlook, goto tools,
services, highlight exchange server, click properties,
select advanced tab, then offline folder files, click the
browse button, click yes to create file,ok,ok
NOTE: DO NOT DELETE .PST, THESE ARE YOUR PERSONAL FOLDERS

What information do you see in the sync log in deleted items? Do you have a
good connection to the Exchange server, and can you force a sync?

I've forgotten to say there was no sync log in deleted
items.
The connection to the Exchange server is ok and a forced
sync works fine.

Thanks for your help.

Did you check what your sync settings are to see if there's more than one
group defined? If so, which is the default for the background sync?
