problem with opening icons

When I left click on desk top icons, nothing
happens,unless I click multiple times. However, if I go
right click, I can open on the drop down with just one
click on the word open. What's up, thanks
 
Go to Control Panel>Mouse. Check the speed of your double click. Also
update your mouse drivers.
