Try stretching the small window to full size. (Do not use Maximize)
Ensure that window is the last one closed and IE should remember the
size next time.

Whenever right click on a link and choose "Open in New Window," the new
window always opens minimized and then I have to hunt for it and maximize
it. Always used to open maximized. Anyone know how I can change the
setting?
Thanks

Or, reset the Windows placement

ever find a solution to your problem?

i think i'm having the same issue - i do "open in new
window" by right-mouse clicking on a link. the window
opens as a tiny minimized 1-2-inch long bar that i have
to maximize EVERY TIME ... and it's getting pretty
annoying!

thanks in advance,
betty

Yes Betty, -- I found a fix (in another post).
I am copying it here:

If you want New windows [Hyperlinks on Webpages] to open maximized:
1. Open a link.
2. Don't use the maximize button.
3. Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
4. Close all other IE windows.
5. Close the stretched window last.

However, the above procedure is not equivalent to SHOWMAXIMIZED API call.
Best option is to use "IE New Window maximizer"

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=1746
(Uses Windows API calls and automatically maximizes every browser window you
open)
