problem with norton anti-virus 2003

i have a problem. A friend send me some photo ,but norton anti-virus denied
the access to it. how can i open this photo?

have you considered the possibility that norton anti-virus has denied
access to it because it's not actually a picture but instead a virus?

What e-mail client are you using? Outlook Express? Outlook? Something else?
This type of information is necessary in order to solve the problem. If you

Are you displaying all file extensions? (Control Pannel> Folder
Options> View> uncheck "Hide file extensions for know file types," if
using Win2K.) If you are, verify that the attachment is not in fact
other than an image file, e.g. xxxxx.jpg.scr. It is likely you are not
displaying all extensions and the file is actually an executable, i.e.
contains a virus you wouldn't want to open.
