Eight times i tried downloading NOD32 standard edition for windows xp. It
will not download. I emailed this company 3 times & have yet to get a
response! Hopefully my experience in losing $40 will influence others in
choosing a reputable AV program.

Have used Nod32 for several years and never had a problem downloading.
Check you firewall settings perhaps.
I have downloaded many times without a problem.
Are you able to download elsewhere ok?
XP does have its built in firewall switch it off and try downloading
perhaps.

I had a problem with the download too and I got on the phone with Eset and
they took care of the problem.

More detail would be nice.
On selecting the link are you getting the popup box asking for username
& password? If not check your internet settings, pop up blocker etc.

If you are getting as far as entering username & password is it
rejecting your details.

If you want help give full datails instead of just venting your anger!

Jim

In my opinion a reputable co. should answer a subscribers email. I sent 3
emails to ESET & still waiting for a response. With the proliferation of
viruses going around i am forced to choose another AV program that will suit
my needs. $40 down the drain!!!!!! Suggestions for other commercial Av

Eset is still is a small company and it's probably still sorting through the
issues with version 2.
If Eset isn't meeting your needs, then by all means, ask for a refund. You
probably won't get it,
but you might get their attention.

Exactly! good points Jim. My moneys on "user error" ;o)
Along with you Jim I'd like a bit more information.
Eset imho seem to be a highly reputable company.

When i try to download the standard version for windows xp a winow appears
requesting my username & password. Eight individual times i typed in the
appropriate information as provided by nod thru an email. I am aware that my
problem could be "myself, my computer or nod". AT least nod could have the
decency of responding to one of my 3 emails that i sent them!

This may seem odd but empty your temp internet files and cookies
and then copy and paste your username/password from the email.

Just copying and pasting the user name.pass shoudl be enough.

I agree, but I had this problem once and until I deleted them it
wouldn't work. Strange but true and very odd.

I appreciate the suggestions this group has provided. Reality dictates that
i purchase a working av program very soon. Again thank you for the
suggestions & advice.

If you're cutting & pasting, make sure you're not entering a blank before the username
or password.
Also double check that you are trying to download the standard edition (ndntenst.exe).
You cannot download the admin version with a single user licence.

I'm sure you will get a response tomorrow. It is the weekend and even ESET are
entitled to time off!
You could post to the NOD group at
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/index.php?board=39 for further advice.

Good luck

My first point...

You don't say how much time you've given them to respond. I'm not
accusing you, however I'll bet I could get off 3 emails to you and a
post here before you could respond. I'm sure it's not as ridiculous
as that but your allegation is hard to evaluate without more detail.

My second point...

I had some problems with ESET's web site myself when I first tried to
purchase their product. As I recall, I repeatedly sellected the
product I wanted and when I clicked the "Add to Cart" button, it went
to my shopping cart and showed that I had nothing in the cart! I
tried this repeatedly for several days with the same result. I
finally emailed them and got an email response within a day or so. We
worked it out.

Keep in mind that they may not be there on the weekend.

While I can relate to your frustration, I suggest you hang in there.
NOD32 is certainly a good product even if you are having trouble with
the web page. It took me a bit to get it set up correctly and
working. Once you get it installed and working properly, I'm sure you
too will be pleased.
