I've got a problem with a .NET 2.0 application - HomeSeer home automation
software.
I have a clean-installed RC2 (5744) system. I installed HomeSeer, and when
I try to start it, it immediately throws system.badimageformatexception,
listing homeseer.exe as the culprit. I've tried all combinations of running
the installer and the app in compatibility mode and "run as administrator";
nothing makes a difference. Installed it on a second, very different, RC2
system (a TabletPC), and the same thing happens, so it seems Vista
RC2-specific, not a quirk of a particular system.
I've copied the installer download to an XP system, run it there, and the
installed HomeSeer runs just fine. The installation directory (C:\program
files\homeseer 2\) and its contents are identical between the XP and Vista
systems. Both systems have the same .NET 2.0 framework (2.0.50727)
installed.
Google, Microsoft, and MSDN searches for badimageformatexception and/or
various combinations of vista and dotnet/.net have turned up nothing useful.
Anybody got any ideas?
