Problem with navigation indicators

I asked a question earlier about the non-appearance of keyboard navigation indicators placed in the .text properties of controls. I enabled their use in the 'Effects' tab of the desktop properties tab/control panel as advised

They now appear as they should. Only thing is, they do not always work. In fact, somewhat erratically, navigatio
indicators corresponding to the label controls of text boxes sometimes work, but those in the text properties o
button controls seem not to work at all. Is there something else I have to do to enable the operation of this keyboar
navigation feature

Just to clarify on this - with more experimentation, it appears that it is only the button controls in my Windows Forms wher
the ampersand-accelerators do not work. Text boxes do appear to work (with labels) providing the accompanying label
are correctly set up for tab order and text property with ampersand

Any idea why accelerator keys set up with ampersands in the text properties of button controls do not work
