Problem with my internet security system

I've got a one year old Dell
I've got Norton Internet Security and Spybots-Search and Destroy.

My first problem is that my Intrudor Detection in Norton Internet security
won't work because my windows system gives restriction. How can I make it
work?

My second problem is that every minut I' ve got Spybots who comes and tell
me:

Spynots - Search and Destroy has detected an important registry entry that
has been changed. And I've got the choice bewteen Allow Change or Deny
Change, even if i always put Deny Change it always come back. How can I make
this go away?

for your second problem the best bet is to uninstall both programmes and then
install Zone Alarms (Free Download) and Norton (Free i think)
you shouldnt have any probs,I dont

Pierre,

I don't know about the Norton issue, but with Spybot (the resident part,
TeaTimer), that is what it is supposed to do. It is supposed to notify
you of when something is trying to modify certain parts of the registry,
especially the startup entries, since this is were most spyware packages
need to add an entry. For instance, if you install a program that set's
itself to start's at windows startup, like RealPlayer, at the point of
installation where it sets the registry key, Spybot will popup the
message for you to allow or deny the change.

Possibly, the Norton won't work because it's attempting to change a
registry setting monitored by Spybot, and if you click deny, it just
attempts to change it again (longshot) ?

I would leave the Spybot installed. When it comes up , it tells you
what's trying to be written. If you can't figure out what's doing it,
post the EXACT message here it gives you, and I'm sure we can figure it
out for you.

Another suggestion was to dump Spybot and install ZoneAlarm. Just a
warning, The latest version of ZoneAlarm has some issues if you use the
binaries groups on usenet. It seems as though it adds (or replaces) a few
bytes in binaries files encoded with yEnc (possibly fixed now by the
authors ?), which makes them corrupted. Not an issue though unless you do
binaries. The recommendation there is to use an older version. There are
countless threads on this issue in news.software.readers.
