Problem with My Computer & Opening Files

I can open My Computer, but when I click on a folder on the left half of the
screen it doesn't expand, but instead it just sits on busy displaying the
hourglass cursor.

Also when in an application like Word or Excel I click on the Folder icon to
get a list of files to open, but again it just sits on busy displaying the
hourglass cursor.

Is there a fault with my File Allocation Table (or whatever remembers where
the files are located)?

HP and Nvidia have updated drivers to address the problems with their
software. Check on their sites.

From what I've read, a corrected patch will be released by MS on Tuesday.
