Hello.
I have a Gateway computer with the following: 1) a 1400-MHz Pentium 4
processor, 2) 256 MB of RAM, and 3) 40 GB of hard-drive space.
The computer is running Windows Millennium Edition (ME).
I have a Brother MFC-240C printer. This is a multifunction device:
printer, copier, fax, and scanner.
I have had the printer for about five months. Every time I needed to
install a new stack of paper, I fanned the stack in order to separate
the sheets, and then I inserted the stack into the printer.
Until now, the printer has worked very well. However, after I
installed the most recent new stack, the printer started working
poorly.
For example, if I print a one-sheet document, the printer outputs a
stack of five sheets AT ONCE, with the top sheet having the document
printed on it and with the other sheets being blank. It is as if the
sheets are stuck together.
Many times, the top margin will be wrong. The printed material will be
too close to the top. I have tried to re-fan the stack (to separate
the sheets) over and over again, and the problem persists.
Previously, I fanned the stack, inserted the stack, and everything
worked.
So, what is going on here? Is there something wrong with the sheets?
Or is there something wrong with the printer?
Thank you for any information.
