Hi,
I have a CD on winxp says if I want to install winxp pro
within Dos, I have to write: "CD-Rom":\cd wxpvol_EN\i386
\winnt.exe . Well, I did, but when I write:
cd wxpvol_en, it says: Invalid Directory.
On Dos I see the directory as: WXPVOL_E not WXPVOL_EN , I
also wrote cd wxpvol_e , the same answer. Then what
should be done about it? I want the directory to be read
by Dos. Regards.

Your XP cd should be bootable. I'd install that way.

"CD-Rom":\cd wxpvol_EN\i386
means change to your cd drive by typing the drive letter colon enter.
Then change dir to wxpvol_EN\i386 (IMO it should only be i386)

Hi and thanks, I did as you said. But still on: cd
wxpvol_en or wxpvol_e, it says: Invalid Directory. Is
the directory really 'invalid' is it not 'invalid'? I
don't know. Regards.

Boot from the CD to install. Or build the bootable floppy diskettes
if the CD is not directlyy bootable on the system. Installing fro
"inside" another OS is not the best proceedure available.

The "CD-Rom":\cd wxpvol_EN\i386\winnt.exe"
contains *placeholders*.
"CD-Rom" for the drive letter of the CD
"wxpvol_EN" for the EN/English name of the folder.

If you insist of using the 16-bit installer anyway just
Log the CD drive
CD to the i386 directory
Execute winnt.exe
