Hiya all

Just wondered if any of you could help.
I installed the MS Windows Antispyware BETA yesterday and now cannot get on a website (poker) have tried disabling and various other options but still not working.
Does anyone have any ideas what I have to do to allow this action?

Many thanks

Debs

If all else fails, you could run system restore to put your PC back to how it was yesterday. Although, if it doesn't load because of something MS Antispyware has done, perhaps it was for a good reason?

What sort of things did it remove?

Microsoft AntiSpyware, also known as Windows AntiSpyware, is a piece of software designed to remove, quarantine or prevent a spyware presence on Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 operating systems.
I stongly suggest you download Ad-Aware & SpywareBlaster (from my sig') install, update and run them on your system.

If you would like to PM me the actual website address I'll take a look ... please do not post the address on the forum as it may well contain some sort of nastie. ;)

Hiya

It did not really remove anything but I am not able to go online and listen to radio stations it cuts out and also when I want to go into a gaming site it loads up and then cuts off. I think I may have to change the settings to allow but not sure how to.

Thanks

I could not pm you - not allowed access!
I already have ADaware and Spybot Search and Destroy but was told to download this one it was from the offical Microsoft Windows Site.

Good, pleased to hear that ... I take it they do not find anything?

If they do not;
I suggest a "try-out" with SpySweeper ... sorry, but SpySweeper does do a little more than the others and IHMO can easily replace both Ad-Aware & SBS&D ... however, it is not free, but you can try it out, I suggest you try it even if it just for one scan ... if it finds nothing I'll be happier. ;)

I would still keep MS's Anti-Spyware, afterall, they, MS, bought it off the leader of the pack (Giant) in Anti-Spyware ... one program MS did not write. :D

Forgot about PM limitation, but Ian has grasiosly recinded the 'rule' for you. :thumb:

I had one customers machine in last week with that problem (among many others) but as I was doing a general re-install anyway i did not spend much time on it, but I do remember it having something to do with java being turned off by the MS program... anyway, Mucks will be able to help more than me at this stage.. :thumb:
(mainly as its Sunday, and thats official hangover day for me....) :D

Ok, we can come out of the closet now. :D

I can find nothing 'sinister' with http://ladbrokespoker.com/ ... in fact, if you need a 'flutter' then at least pick a reputable gambling establishment such as Ladbrokes.

Some of those other places can leave you out of pocket in other ways. ;)

Debs;
I cannot see why, if indeed it is the cause, MSAS is blocking that or any other site. I can only suggest you contact Ladbroke and ask them.

I just reread your post, could you explain "cuts off" and you say the same happens with a radio site. Both use "streaming" to achive a different result.

We will need to know a little more on what your system is ... and who your ISP is.

It could be as simple as "we are very busy today, try again later" syndrome, but I doubt it.

Hiya Alll

Thanks for all your support so far - I would not know where to check the noscripts java blocker and if it is on this would have only happened since I downloaded the spyware.

My internet supplier is blueyonder and I have phoned Ladbrokes and they have said that it is something to do with the spyware and I will have to adjust the settings!! but they don't know how to do it and suggest I phone Microsoft.
By cutting out I mean the site loads up (poker) and then it just disappears as if it has been blocked I don't actually get into the site. The same if I go to use media player or freeplayer it loads up and then won't do anything.
BTW I only go in the freeplay tables lol! honestly, practising lots.
Bye for now

You mean, Anti-Spyware software, don't you. :)

I'm still digging, but cannot replicate the 'problem' and I have very tight security on my system. :(
