Problem with MS Backup using a RW CD-ROM

I am experiencing difficulty restoring a backup made with
the generic Backup program in Windows 2000. I have
installed a rewritable CD-Rom and one of the features was
it could be formatted to act like any other removable
media. So I did that and had Backup use it like a hard
drive. Now when I try to restore the backup on another
Windows 2000 machine, I can see the backup in explorer,
but backup doesn't see it and if I try to catalogue it,
the machine re-boots!?? Any idea what is wrong?

I dont believe the generic backup app works with CDRW - only HD and Tape
drives
Not sure if by copying from cdrw to hd it will work?

This is hardly surprising as the most likely reason is that the software
that was used to create the disk layout is not installed on the system
being used to read it and so it can't.
