Hi:
I have a database installed which I connect to using tcpip. When app
starts is sends broadcast to specific port on dcom running as service.
dcom sends back connect string to app which then uses it to connect.
I have set up reg entry DisableDHCPMediaSense to prevent stack
destruction when lan unplugged (the stack destruction prevented my
dcom from getting query). This worked well under NT and I could plug in
lan/unplug with no ill effect. Under 2k and xppro (with
DisableDHCPMediaSense) after unplugging land and then plugging back in
again, it does not seem to recover. To get my app/dcom running again I
have to restart the computer.
There are other problems rearing their ugly heads under xp but I
need to get through this first.
Thanks.
Best regards
