Hello friends,
I have a lan network with MacOS 9.2.2 (Ita) and one PC with Microsoft
Windows Server 2003 working on MS VirtualPC.
I have installed Fileserver for Macintosh and Microsoft UAM for Macintosh on
my mac successfully.
But I think that MS UAM doesn't work fine because it doesn't appeare on my
screen when I try to login.
So,when I select AppleShare icon on Chooser application, I see the UAM
Volume and other shared volume, but I can login only with standard Appleshare
window.
My MacOS 9.2.2 System Folder is very clean, It's been just installed!!
Nobody helped me on the italian NG....
Do you have any solutions?

Thank you so much.

Bye

This could be a couple of things:

1.) Verify the server is set to allow MS UAM authentication or MS UAM/Apple
authentication in the File Server for Macintosh properties.

2.) Try manually installing the MS UAM on the OS 9 client. To install the MS
UAM, just drop the MS UAM binary inside your "AppleShare Folder" that is
located inside your System Folder. If you do not have an AppleShare Folder
because this is the first time you are installing the MS UAM, you will need
to create one.

NOTE: Make sure the Chooser and Network Browser are closed before copying
the binary. Otherwise, you will need to close and restart them before you
can use the new MS UAM.

Thank you Jim.
I have already tried all the configurations in the File Server for Macintosh
properties,but nothing....

My System Folder is called Cartella Sistema, in the Italian version...
I'll try to change the name of the "AppleShare Folder" because the different
language....
I'll pray Saint Jobs......:-))))

Thanks and goodnight

Alex

Another method of manually installing the MS UAM is to drag and drop the
file onto the system folder, here Cartella Sistema and the Mac OS will place
the file for you.
