Hi,
Both of those MSKB articles tell how to obtain the hotfix (patch.) If the
support tech determines that the patch will resolve your problem and you do
not raise any other issues, there will be no charge (except for the cost of
the phone call.)

When you view the data in the error reports, are you seeing the error
signature that's described in those articles?

Malware can cause these symptoms. Have you scanned with (at least) Ad-aware?

Dear all,

I am using IE for XP SP2 and my IE quits when I browse certain web pages. The problems matched exactly the symptoms mentioned in
KB articles 892052 & 824468

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892052
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824468

However, no fixes can be downloaded from the above KB articles. Do anyone have obtained these fixes from Microsoft?

If you have the latest cumulative update for IE (e.g. 890923)
and you extracted the SP2QFE version of mshtml.dll
you might find the hotfix from 892052 integrated.
For example, the version number in it is 6.0.2900.2627
whereas the hotfix you're looking for is only 6.0.2900.2609.

(Google web search for
intitle:ms05 intitle:internet site:microsoft.com
)

In fact, all I had to do was open a command window
and enter:

cd %windir%\SoftwareDistribution
dir/s mshtml.dll

to find that it is still there after my latest update session.

Good luck
