Problem with KAV 5 and WWW

Hi all,

I lurked for a long while looking at the various opinions on a good
anti-virus solution. I chose to buy KAV 5 personal pro but the
experience has been less than nice.

As others have stated it is a resource hog but I'm prepared to put up
with it for the sake of not getting infected. The user interface IMO
is horrible but if the program works as advertised I'll put up with
that too. I am having big problems accessing any secure site on the
net and that makes it unusable for me.

Any site I visit, including Kaspersky's "my account" just stalls
waiting for (I assume) some virus or script check and then the
Internet explorer window just closes after maybe a minute.

Sites with no security are no problem, I can browse just fine.
Anyone have an idea what is going on here?
