I have run into a very strange problem that I cannot seem
to fix. I have a desktop and a laptop at home. These
two are connected by means of a crossover cat5 cable.
When I went to setup my home network for the two
computers the desktop running xp home said there was an
error setting up the network so I should input
information manually. I did that. My laptop runs XP
Pro. With the manual inputs I can see the hard drives,
ping, transfer files and share printers and all of that
but I cannot share my broadband internet (the main
connection is on the desktop). I have an internal dsl
modem that cannot be changed out with out paying a ton of
money. When I go into network connections and try to
force my desktop to share the internet connection (ICS)
it tells me "Error 2 File not found" and that is it.
ANy thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated.
