Problem with Internet Explorer

Sharan

I had problem with IE 5.0 in Windows 98 SE. So, I Upgraded
it with IE 6.0 Service Pack1. But, even now the problem is
persisting. Whenever I try to log on to the web, I get
connected but the browser displays "Microsoft Internet
Explorer Error".- The search page cannot be displayed. So,
If I go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Signup and
run a program called Install.ins which is for Internet
communication settings, The settings are changed. After
that if I reboot the system and log on to the net the
browser works fine. So please send a solution for this
problem.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
