problem with intenret explorer

Running Windows XP Pro with ie7. This just began out of nowhere. Have a dsl
internet and cannot get on the internet. Receive email just fine, but when
opening IE no web page will come up. Have attempted to ping a site such as
google but receive no reply. Uninstalled norton antivirus and the problem
still persists. In case this should be on another forum I will post
elsewhere as well, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks
 
You could try opening Internet Explorer>select Tools>Internet
Options>Connections>Set up a Internet connection. Click
Setup.
 
Have you tried System Restore to revert back to a time when the system was
running correctly?

Hi,
With due respect to other Posters, you have a response to you in IE6
Newsgroup, if this didn't help please post to the Network newsgroup for more
help.
