I've managed to get this little printer server working on my PC's. I have
two PC's at home (A and B), both networked using a hub, both running WinXP
Pro. The Intel NetPortExpress Pro is also connect to the hub. Problem is, if
I start the unit up and print from PC A first it's fine, but if I then try
to print from PC B the red light comes on and starts blinking - which means
a fault and the unit goes offline. It works the other way too - if I start
the unit up and print from PC B first it's fine, but if I then print from PC
A it goes into fault mode again with the red light flashing. This is ironic
as the whole point of this unit is to be able to print to one printer from
mulitple PC's. If it can only print from one PC I might as well just plug
the printer into the LPT port at the back of the tower.
I've managed to get into the web-based NetPort Manager and I can't see any
setting that would dissallow more than one PC accessing the this printer
server.
What's also puzzling is the number of red light blinks is 9, but the blink
error code in the manual at:
ftp://download.intel.com/support/netport/pro/setupeng.pdf
only explains blinks up to 8.
Thanks for any help.
