problem with installer

I have a Dell laptop with XP. It's about 6 months old. I keep getting the
installer when I try to access a new program when multitasking. I have to
click on cancel a few times and it disappears. I found the troubleshooting
programs but don't have a clue which troubleshooting program to run. A
little help, please?

It could be that one of your apps is not completely/finished installing or
you've picked up some malware/spyware. Suggest you run the below
program first, if it finds nothing, click the installer and follow thru on it
whichever program it installs.
