I am having trouble setting up a new video card on my father's
computer. I am unable to install the drivers for the card or uninstall
the old monitor drivers. When I attempt to do so I get a message
saying something along the lines of "Windows was unable to load the
installer for display" or "Windows was unable to load the installer
for monitor", depending on whether I'm trying to set up the video card
or monitor. What could be the cause of this and what could be the
solution?

Is the video driver or the installing application W2K compatible? You might
need to identify what video adapter is installed, manufacturer and model.
This way you can download a W2K driver at their website. You need
administrator privileges to do this in W2K.

It sounds like you are trying to run a 16 bit application written for Win9x.

Concentrate on video adapter for now, after all, the monitor only displays
what the video card sends it. And all a monitor *.inf file does is specify
refresh specifications to the video card driver.
