I'm having some really wierd problems getting my web server running properly. I was having these problems and couldn't figure out what was wrong so i've reformatted and reinstalled XP on my machine but the problems still persist. Not sure when it started in the first place
What is happening is that I can't view any pages on localhost with IE. Yet i can load up netscape or mozilla and it works fine. In IE i get an external server error. The other issue is that even though i have the .NET framework installed (1.1) - and i can verify this by viewing 'add/remove programs', Looking at the properties in IIS and the server extensions i don't see .aspx at all
The OTHER problem - though probably a result of the first issue is that i can't create a new ASP.NET web application in VS.NET 2003. I get a "The Web server reported the following error when attempting to create or open the Web project located at the following URL: 'http://localhost/WebApplication 1'. 'HTTP/1.0 500 Server Error'."
The one thing i discovered by accident is that i CAN view localhost pages in IE when i am disconnected from the internet
Anyone have any ideas/suggestions? I'm at a loss
Thanks
Jay
