Problem with IE

I run WinXP Pro and IE 6 SP1 with several users at home. I recently
installed Opera and Mozilla Firefox 1.0PR as alternate browsers in a trial
basis.
Uninstalled Opera and keeped Mozilla converting it in the default browser
and keeping IE for some uses. The thing is IE has stopped to work at all
users (The DNS error page appears). The connection is OK because I'm able to
navigate the Internet with Mozilla. Does anybody know the reason of this
behavior? I repaired IE form the Control Panel, turn it the default browser
again and nothing works. Does anybody know about how to correct this and
return IE to normal operation (without installing SP2)?

Maybe the reason for the IE crash is not Mozilla or other new installation
but a known issue that I'm not aware of.

Hi give this a try:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm

If that doesn't help
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
or
Line 68 right side
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
reboot when done
