Gary

I have a Pentium 4 running XP Home and in the last couple of days when
using my IE V6.0.2800.11.06 and I go to 'Tools - Internet Options', I
get a popup window which reads "This operation has been cancelled due
to restrictions in effect on the computer. Please contact your
Administrator"

I am the Administrator and have installed nothing in last few days. If
I right click on IE icon on the desktop, I can get into IE properties
and make changes to options without any popup message occurring.

Can anyone help me - has anyone struck this problem and know how to
fix it.
If so would you please tell me how I can remedy this problem.

Close IE.
Open Regedit.
Find the value NoBrowserOptions and remove every instance of it.

You might try this from Mike Burgess first if you use SpyBot:
'Did you by chance run SpyBot's Immunize feature?
If so, you can unlock by unchecking the option to "Protect IE Control
Panel".

Thanks Frank
I had changed the options on IE in Spybot.
Once I unchecked the box along side 'Protect IE Control Panel", I
could use the 'Tools - Internet Options' in IE. Trying to ensure the
security of your system has it's drawbacks sometimes. Now I know the
cause I can live with it.

cheers
Gary
